Kyc verification The documents required for KYC verification vary by country. Here are the requirements for the different countries we currently serve; US A selfie and your International passport or Driver’s Licence. UK  A selfie and your Passport, Driver’s Licence, Resident permit, Citizen Card, OR Electoral ID. CANADA A selfie and Driver’s License, Permanent Resident Card, OR International passport. NIGERIA Your BVN (Bank Verification Number) and a selfie. GHANA A selfie and Voter’s card, New Voter’s card, Passport, SSNIT, OR Driver’s Licence. KENYA A selfie and National Identity card, Alien Card, OR your international passport. UGANDA A selfie and your National Identity Card. EUROPE We will require a selfie and your Passport, Driver’s Licence, Resident permit, and Citizen Card I have only my valid visa; what do I do? If you are from a different nationality and you recently moved to another country, your valid visa page can be used to verify your Afriex account. FYI, it should be a resident or work permit. We are currently unable to verify the identity of anyone with a visit visa. I have tried to verify my identity, but it is not working.  What do I do? It would help to check the error code responses for the next actions. If that doesn't work, please send an email to hello@afriex.co with the necessary documentation for your current location for manual verification. Phone number verification This is just us trying to authenticate that you are the true owner of the mobile phone number. We can only validate a mobile number currently. Landlines cannot be verified. There are 2 methods of verification: SMS and WhatsApp. I tried to verify my account via SMS, but it didn’t work. What do I do? The WhatsApp verification option will pop up after 60 seconds. The SMS will be sent to your WhatsApp app. The phone number registered on WhatsApp should be the same line you are trying to verify for this to be a success. I have tried all the above and it didn’t work, what next? You can try again later, typically after a few hours or 24 hours. Please reach out to us for manual verification; we will have to call you for a quick chat.

Account Creation

How do I start? Creating an account on Afriex is a pretty straightforward process. We will require you to provide a couple of details, like your name as it appears on your valid means of identification, a valid email address, and a verifiable phone number, and that’s it! What happens if I can’t create an account or am unable to log in to my newly created account? An error message will appear. Please check out the error codes article to find out the next steps for the different error codes.

Passwords

Passwords are an essential security feature in the Afriex app. They are used to authenticate users and ensure that only authorized individuals have access to their app, sensitive data, and transactions. Strong passwords are crucial to protect against unauthorized access and theft. TABLE OF CONTENTS Password creation Pin code creation Password Reset Password Creation The password must be unique and not generic. It should contain upper- and lower-case letters, numbers, and special characters to be accepted during account creation. Here are some helpful tips; Use a strong and unique password: A strong password should be at least 12 characters long and include a mix of upper- and lower-case letters, numbers, and special characters. It should not be a word that can be found in a dictionary or contain personal information such as your name or date of birth. It is also essential to use a unique password for each account, as using the same password across multiple accounts increases the risk of a data breach. Use a password manager: A password manager is a tool that stores all of a user's passwords in an encrypted format. Users only need to remember one master password to access all of their accounts. This can make it easier to use strong and unique passwords for each account, as users do not have to remember them all. Pin code creation To ensure maximum account security, we recommend using a unique, strong pin code instead of 1111, 0000, or 1234. Avoid common passwords: Common passwords are easily guessed by hackers. Customers should avoid using such pin codes and choose something more unique. By following these tips, you can create strong and unique passwords that are much harder to guess or crack, ensuring the security of your Afriex account. Password Reset To reset your password, Click on the forgot password, a reset link will be sent to the email registered on your account with Afriex. Please follow the instructions when you visit the reset link to create a new password. It is vital to avoid from using the old password as your password as it will not be accepted, which will improve the security of your app.

I tried to reset my password, but it is not working. Why?

Please make sure that your new password follows the following rules; Password must contain at least 8 characters. Match with your confirm password. Contain one uppercase letter. Contain one lowercase letter/alphabet. Contain at least 1 numeric character. Contain at least one special character. Punctuation marks and other symbols are examples of special characters. E.g - $, # , >,<,*,&%^@!_)(etc. If the above doesn’t work, please send us a screenshot with the error message.

Adding Afriex to your email contact list

Stay updated on Afriex news, new releases, and app update information. Adding an email account to your trusted contacts list can help ensure that important messages from Afriex are not marked as spam. Here are the steps to add an email account as a trusted contact in some popular email services: Gmail: Open an email from the sender you want to add as a trusted contact. Hover over the sender's name or email address. Click "Add to Contacts" in the pop-up window that appears. The sender's email address will now be added to your Google Contacts and future messages from them should not be marked as spam. Outlook: Open an email from the sender you want to add as a trusted contact. Right-click on the sender's email address. Select "Add to Outlook Contacts" from the drop-down menu. Enter any additional contact information you have for the sender and click "Save". Future messages from this sender should not be marked as spam. Yahoo: Open an email from the sender you want to add as a trusted contact. Click on the sender's name or email address. Click "Add to Contacts" in the pop-up window that appears. Enter any additional contact information you have for the sender and click "Save". Future messages from this sender should not be marked as spam. Please note that each email service may have slightly different steps to add a trusted contact, so you may want to consult your email service's help documentation if you're having trouble. Additionally, adding a sender as a trusted contact certainly increase the likelihood that our emails will reach your inbox

I would like to change my email address.

You can do this yourself in the app during account creation. For further email address changes, please email us at hello@afriex.co with the new email, copying the old email in the CC line. The update will be done within two business days after your email is received.  Your card details will be removed (for US, UK, CAD, and Europe customers alone), and you will be required to add your account information again.
